Signalment:
14 year old, Male, Castrated, Cocker Spaniel

History:
Previously diagnosed with Addison's Disease and started on predisone. Seizures were controled with phenobarbital.

Presented with mildly elevated liver enzymes and hypoalbuminemia, elevated bile acids, increased lethargy.

Ultrasound Images:
Two images are provided of the pancreas; one with normal pancreaticoduodenal vein and one with the lesion.


Initial differentials?

Diagnosis:

  1. Pancreatic edema
    Lamb (J Vet Intern Med 13:498-500) reported associated with concurrent hypoalbuminemia or portal hypertension...any additional ideas?
