US images of body wall mass and spleen (as part of abdominal scan)

Initial differentials?

Sonographic Findings:

  1. Lenticular mass in body wall and hypoechoic nodule in spleen.

Diagnosis:

  1. Mammary neoplasia and splenic metastasis
  2. FNA: Mammary carcinoma in both organs
  3. Splenic nodules are quite uncommon in cats (as opposed to dogs). Benign masses are very uncommon in cats and any nodule in a cat should be suspicious for neoplasia, especially when a primary mass is confirmed.
