Signalment:
10 year old female spayed DSH

7 day history of poor appetite, progressing to anorexia

Questions:

What are your ultrasonographic findings?
What are your differentials?

Ultrasound Findings:

Liver enlarged with many hyperechoic nodules
Moderate amount of free anechoic peritoneal fluid
Kidneys bilaterally enlarged, hypoechoic subcapsular infiltration
Mesenteric lymph nodes moderately enlarged and hypoechoic.

Ultrasonographic Diagnosis:

Liver, kidney, and peritoneal infiltrative disease. Differentials include FIP and lymphoma.

PCR of the abdominal effusion was submitted, and tested positive for FIP.
