Signalment:
4 year old intact female Collie
Vomiting and anorexia for 3 days. Elevated liver enzymes and now bilirubin 2.6 mg.dl
Image:
Long axis image of gall bladder. Dog is in dorsal recumbency, plane of view is slightly right of midline parasagittal. Stomach is empty and out of field-of-view.
Questions:
Differentials for lesion?
Other imaging tests indicated?
Ultrasound Findings:
Gall Bladder: reverberating lesions in near field (ventral, =nondependent): gas in gall bladder indicated gas forming organisms
Ultrasonographic Diagnosis:
DDX: ruptured gall bladder, gas-forming bacteria (anaerobic bacteria)
